This money-making rotating Money Frog features a treasure chest and a pair of Carp.
Also known as the Three Legged Toad, Wealth Toad or “Chan Chu” in Chinese, the Money Frog is probably the most auspicious symbol of money making. This mythical creature is said to appear every full moon near homes that will receive good news of increased wealth or financial gain. The Money Frog is used for attracting prosperity and abundance and can often be seen near cash registers, receptions, managers’ desk and offices in Oriental countries.
The Wealth Toad can assume many forms in Feng Shui. Sometimes it is depicted sitting on a bed of coins, sitting on a bagua or carrying strings of coins or gold ingots. The most interesting characteristic about the Chan Chu is their connection with bad luck in finances. Chan Chu symbolizes protection and turning bad luck that causes money problems into good luck. The Money Frog is believed to help people end troubling bills, poor financial habits like overspending, and difficulty attracting money.
The Carp is very closely connected to the dragon. The old story of the carp leaping and crossing over “Dragon Gate” to transform into a Dragon had become very popular. Carps are strong fishes that could resist the big currents in Yellow River and this represent determination and perseverance. They are able to swim upstream and rapidly leaping on the surface of water to reach heaven to symbolize success in your undertakings.
Because the Carp made such a treacherous journey to reach its goal, it is seen as a symbol of determination and strength. Also, the Carp swims upstream by repeatedly jumping out of the water and towards the heavens – this is a representation of an attainment of ambitions and aspirations. The Carp is believed to bring many other benefits, including educational luck, enhancement of marriage quality, good fortune and luck in literary pursuits. With all these advantages, you will be able to overcome any obstacles in your way, as well as overthrow any competition.
Where to place the Money Frog :
1. Southeast – of your living room or office magnify your windfall luck and enhance the income of the residents since this is the universal Wealth sector based on the Bagua Theory.
2. Place two Money Frogs: One should face the outside, to draw money and lucrative financial opportunities. The other should face inward, to prevent wealth from leaving your premises. Your money frog or toad can face your main entrance, but shouldn’t be directly in front of the door. It’s best to place Chan Chu diagonally to the door.
3. Next to your desk if you use your computer for finances or earning money or by your cash register, if you have a shop (but not facing the cash register).
4. You can have up to nine Money Frogs or toads in your workspace, garden or home. The most favorable numbers are one, three, six or nine. The best number of Money Frogs to have in your living room or garden is nine because it represents bringing in money from all directions of the compass. If nine is not possible, three or six are good numbers too. Place them randomly and discreetly under the table, behind the sofa, below the coffee table etc. Make sure that each Money Frog faces a different direction of the compass in the living room and one near your front door hopping inward to bring in lots of wealth and money.
Note: Never place a money frog in your kitchen, bathroom or bedroom.
