This beautiful plaque features the long mantra of the Goddess Kuan Yin (Avalokiteshvara), the Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion. Kwan Yin (Kuan Yin, Guan Yin) is also known as the Goddess of Mercy. She is represented by the lotus flower, and is well known for her ability to bring peace and tranquility. In Mahayana Buddhism her name is Avalokitesvara. She is revered as “One Who Hears the Cries of the World.” Kwan Yin reached a spiritual level where she could become an enlightened Buddha, elevated beyond life and death, but instead she chose to stay on Earth to help mankind improve their karma. She also is said to be able to help overcome depression, grief, illness, or any other major obstacles keeping one from peace. She is also a goddess of fertility, and is often shown holding a child. She grants children to childless couples. Chant her mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum” to protect you and your family from harm.
