This beautiful brass Wu Lou has floral motifs on it, the Yin Yang and Bagua symbols to deflect negative energies in its surrounding.
Wu Lou, also known as Holy Gourd and Calabash, is a powerful Feng Shui cure and enhancer of longevity, good health and prosperity. The shape of the Wu Loualso symbolizes heaven and earth united together. The upper section is the heaven while the bottom symbolizes the earth and when used by human, becomes an integration of heaven, earth and mankind. Thus, it becomes a perfect gift for old people and to oneself to ward off illness energies.
According to the ancient wisdom of the I-Ching, the 8 Trigrams (Bagua) is the model of the universe. Trigrams are the symbols made up of three lines. Each trigram consists of a three-line combination of solid (Yang) lines and broken (Yin) lines, symbolizing the ever-changing relationship of the essential life forces, Yin and Yang. The top line represents heaven, the middle line represents man and the bottom line represents earth. This is a very important concept that you will find repeatedly in Feng Shui. It is not surprising that the 8 I-Ching Trigrams are used to attract good fortune and protect against bad energies.
The Tai Chi symbol is also known as the Yin Yang symbol, which is the epitome of balanced chi energy. There are specific symbolisms within the Tai Chi design, especially the black and white tear drops. The two tear drops represent the male (yang) and female (yin) properties of chi energy. These properties are found in all matter since chi exists in all things. Male energy is light (white) and active. Female energy is dark (black) and passive. When combined in a balance of power, these two energies create harmony or what is known as chi. This is the same balance of energy that Feng Shui applications can achieve inside and outside your home.
