This medallion features the OM MANI PADME HUM mantra in lotus petals and encircling the seed syllable HRIH. 

“Om Mani Padme Hum” is the most popular mantra in Buddhism. This six syllable invocation can be translated to “Hail the Jewel in the Lotus” is the mantra of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion who protects one from harm. The Bodhisattva vowed to free all sentient beings from suffering and is said to appear anywhere to help all beings in danger and distress. Om Mani Padme Hum is also referred to as “The Mantra of Universal Protection” or the “Six Character Great Bright Mantra”.

At the center of the lotus is the seed syllable Hrih. Seed Syllables are basically compact version of the mantras. However, they in itself are very powerful and create a different form or energy on its own. The seed syllable Hrih has the ability to ensure the wearer to overcome any hostile and emotionally stressful environment. Hrih is a great syllable for those who are in sales, marketing and public relations, journalism, advertising, legal profession (lawyer, judge, police).
