Ammonites are my favorite fossils. The nautilus shape has a quirky elegance to it! And I love how unique and different each Ammonite is.
Ammonite is a stone of protection and longevity. It provides for insight and it helps to assist one in seeing the whole picture. Gives stability to it’s user. Since it is associated with the Root Chakra, it encourages ones survival instincts and is grounding.
Folk Remedies : Believed to ease birthing pains and bring relaxation. It helps to remind us to keep breathing, due to its circular design.
Feng Shui : Ammonite is believed by Feng Shui masters to be associated to the scales of the mythical creature “Chi Lin” Therefore, it is said to be a powerful wealth stone and brings prosperity, grandeur and illustrious sons, similar to the potency of the Chi Lin.
According to Feng Shui experts, this lucky charm can also be placed either in the home (effecting the well-being of family members and increasing unity) or in the office (where it will allow for a better work environment and relationships with colleagues). However it is used, Ammonite is said to always replace negative energy with positive energy for a happy and healthy mind and body.

Ammonites were creatures with shells that had a regular, helically-spiraled shape, that existed on Earth in prehistoric times, having evolved from nautiluses. Discoveries have shown that they ranged in size from a few centimeters to as big as about 1.7 meters in diameter. Ammonites are not related to shellfish; they were soft-bodied mollusks just like squid and octopuses. As they are now extinct, we can only learn about them from fossils. They were generated on the Earth from the end of the Paleozoic era’s Silurian period (around 420 million years ago) to the middle of the Devonian period (around 380 million years ago). They inhabited the oceans around the world until the Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic era (around 65million years ago), meaning the species existed for a total of around 350 million years. The inside of an ammonite’s spiral-shaped shell is divided into chambers, and the creature’s soft body occupied the largest chamber at the end of the spiral.
